FOCUS: Site-Specific Installation & Performance / Ecological Art
LISA earned a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from UCSB, and is an internationally exhibited, award-winning conceptual artist, social sculptor and educator. She creates site-specific installations, performance and ecological art, based on interdisciplinary research and collaboration.
Lisa has lectured and performed at the National Conference on Peacemaking and Conflict Resolution, College Art Association, Women's Caucus for Art, and at universities and symposia around the world. She is co-founder of Compassionate Action Enterprises, an artist collaborative that promotes art geared toward social, political and environmental activism. Lisa and Dorrie Tames Powell are co-directors of The Dreamsters Union, an organization supporting creative innovation through online courses, in person workshops, mentoring, and a forum for members to connect, share their work and engage the power of the collective creativity.
As an AWoL mentor, she had the opportunity to help guide emerging artist Isaac Welsh.
