On Saturday, April 28th, Art Without Limits presented its 8th Art Career Day Conference (ACDC)!
The conference is designed to create working relationships between aspiring young artists and the professional artists in the community. The day consisted of presentations, performances and participation in 3 round table discussions out of 15 offered. There were 40 artists that donated their time and energy to work with and guide the talented attendees, questions were asked, dialogue was exchanged and the professionals listened!
Roundtables were held in acting & directing, architecture, costume & fashion design, dance, photography, galleries & art organizations, graphic & web design, journalism, painting, poetry & prose, and sculpture & installation. This years favorites were film & media, (Roger Durling & Crew), music (George Pendergast, David Grossman & Daniel Newman-Lessler), animation (Disney/Dreamworks/Nickelodeon animators from LA, Peter Emmerich, Jordon Koch & David DePasquale) acting & directing (Clare Carey-Actors Lab & Ken Gilbert - Drama Dogs). Complimentary lunch was served including McConnell's Ice Cream. ACDC is always free to 13-25 years old artists thanks to community support.
A special thanks to our speakers, leaders, volunteers and donors! We could not have done it without them.
Our attendees have said "ACDC showed me that life is dynamic, and that you actually have a choice about what you want to do," and "I really enjoyed hearing about how people found their way to success first hand."
