Julie McLeod

Founder of Art Without Limits & Mentorship Director

Julie McLeod spent the last 40 years in Santa Barbara involved in the arts and nonprofit world. She served on the City Arts Advisory Committee, as President of the Performing Arts League, and on many committees dedicated to the well-being of arts/artists.

She founded Dance Warehouse in 1979 and directed it for 20 years in what started out as a 2 year lease. it was the hub of dance in Santa Barbara with a staff of 20 teachers, weekly guest artists, and studio concerts. She was influential in forming Santa Barbara Dance Alliance and worked with them for 30 years, as their board president, then as executive director for her last 10 years. She won their first lifetime achievment award.

Julie was on scholarship at the Juilliard School studying with Martha Graham, Jose Limon, Anthony Tudor and more. She was in the original cast of "West Side Story" on Broadway and toured with Yul Brynner in "King and I." She knows many artists in Santa Barbara and is well-respected.
